Christmas and Easter

These two festivals have a profound impact on people in Lizori. Christmas is in fact the birth and discovery of our own inner birth, and Easter is the symbolic passage to a transcendental spirituality which finds its natural reference in man, beyond any criterion of faith.
These reflections will certainly be familiar to those people who have felt this strong spiritual atmosphere in Umbria since the very first time, year after year. This is expressed in many ways in Lizori. During Christmas time, the dim white streetlights and the warmth of the fireplaces give the whole place a serene atmosphere which highlights the intimacy of this village with its legends, scents, nostalgias and inner values, which are historical and transcendent at the same time.
Easter has a different atmosphere, as art, music, conferences and exhibitions are the main attractions. Both occasions are experienced with deep responsibility, from a laic point of view, even in Easter Monday, for example, when people go walking on the hills to share the atmosphere of the new coming spring among the olive trees.
